The Austrian Society of Montreal bridges the gap between generations and raises funds for SOS Children’s Villages Canada
For over 60 years, the Austrian Society of Montreal has brought the traditional splendour and elegance of the Viennese Ball to its city, raising funds annually for youth-focused charities.
A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to SOS Children’s Villages Canada, directly supporting youth programs in the Dominican Republic. Specifically, the program in Los Mina empowers 75 vulnerable young people by providing them with the skills, resources and support needed for independent living, employment and future success. The Ball is a night brimming with excitement, featuring dancing until the early hours, fine food and champagne, prizes, and great entertainment—all while supporting important causes. Over the years, it has united people from various nationalities and cultures, all sharing a common goal: preserving the Viennese Ball tradition.
Austria's ball season, sometimes called the fifth season, stretches between November and February. These events are known to be magical and are now being hosted worldwide. The first-ever Ball supporting SOS Children’s Villages Canada was held on January 19, 1962, in Montreal.
