Young Talent Shines on The Voice Kids
Nesrine made all three judges of The Voice Kids MBC show turn their chairs around during auditions that aired on TV earlier this month.
Nine-year-old Nesrine, who lives at an SOS Children’s Village in Tunisia, impressed the judges with her performance of a traditional Tunisian song called “In Jaka Rabii”, or “If spring comes”. She now moves on to the next round in February.
Nesrine started singing at the age of five when she joined the music and choir club at the SOS Children’s Village.
“Nesrine’s experience is a strong message to all children that there is always hope to achieve their dreams as long as they are persistent”, says Village Director Achraf Saidi. “Every child has potential and it is our duty to orient it and to support them.”
Nesrine used to watch The Voice Kids television show and dreamt of participating. The Village staff registered her in the first casting that took place in Tunisia. She passed and made it to the blind auditions, which took place in Lebanon on 11 January.
The day of the show, everyone in the Village gathered to watch Nesrine’s performance. Her mother, siblings, and friends were very happy when they saw the three judges turn for her.
Nesrine picked the Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, who turned for her first, to coach her as she continues the adventure.
