Corporate Partnerships

SOS Children’s Villages understands businesses’ critical role in creating sustainable change for vulnerable children. Our corporate partners help improve lives and create opportunities for children and young people worldwide. Our partnership approach focuses on providing humanitarian and development assistance in collaboration with families, communities, governments, and international agencies, while leveraging the resources and expertise of corporate partners to drive impact and achieve meaningful results for children and youth.

We work closely with multinational corporations, national companies, and small to medium-sized businesses to build partnerships that leverage the strengths of the corporate sector on behalf of vulnerable children and young people around the world.

The nature of our partnerships varies with each partner, evolving to respond to children’s needs and changes in the business environment.

Whether through strategic programmatic funding, leveraging a company’s core expertise and networks, or working with industries to promote child rights in responsible business practices, we partner with the private sector to make a transformational difference for children and youth.

More than 1 billion children worldwide have limited access to health services, education and basic necessities.

The impact of investing in children is 10 times what you put in.

Only 5% of Official Development Assistance is child-focused, despite children making up 46% of the population receiving aid.

Globally, around 269 million young people are neither in education, employment or training, with young women twice as likely as young men to be in this situation.

Six ways to partner

Strategic grants

Through strategic grants, we tailor our partnerships to support children and the interests of your business. We form collaborations that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, putting children and young people at the centre of our actions. From economic empowerment to climate action, we offer a range of innovative approaches to providing holistic care to vulnerable children and their families.

Creating stronger relationships with employees

Engaging employees in corporate philanthropy can substantially benefit businesses by boosting workplace morale and productivity. Many people now work remotely, and while working away from the office can help minimize distractions and increase productivity, it can also lead to employees feeling disconnected and isolated. We can help create engaging initiatives to inspire and motivate employees through Team Raiser, a peer-to-peer fundraising platform or Benevity, corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform that helps companies manage their employee giving, volunteering, and donation matching programs.

YouthCan!

Through YouthCan!, the global SOS Children’s Villages program dedicated to youth employability, entrepreneurship, and corporate volunteering, employees can have the opportunity to volunteer, either in person or virtually. YouthCan! has been recognized as a sustainable and scalable solution at the UN Economic and Social Council Partnership Forum.

Customer and brand engagement

Building strong community partnerships is becoming increasingly important for attracting and retaining customers. Many individuals are willing to pay a premium for goods when they know that part of the profits will support social causes they care about. Additionally, incorporating a donation request throughout the customer journey can enhance the positive brand perception of your business.

Event Sponsor

Sponsorship is an effective way for your company to demonstrate your commitment to community investment while increasing your brand visibility with target audiences. Our signature event, A seat at the table, takes place every two years with various sponsorship options and VIP sponsor exclusives.

Additional partnership considerations

SOS Children’s Villages welcomes gifts in kind, such as event goods and services and media coverage and volunteering the professional skills of your staff. Match-giving from the company to complement employee or customer fundraising initiatives can further boost engagement and effectiveness of the campaigns.

“Since the launch of YouthCan! in 2017 in Indonesia, I have been actively involved in mentoring and training activities in different cities across the country. Together with other AkzoNobel employees, we have been able to empower over 1,000 young people in Indonesia, by helping them develop their personal, professional and entrepreneurship skills…I hope many more companies will join YouthCan! so we can accelerate, become bigger and faster, and have a positive impact on many more young people across the world who need and deserve it”
