SOS relies on the kindness and generosity of Canadians to be able to provide a home for the most vulnerable children around the world.
SOS Children's Village in Seekirchen
The SOS Children's Village of Salzburg was founded in 1964. It is situated on a hill overlooking the small market-town of Seekirchen. The views from the SOS Children's Village are very attractive: to the south you can see the mountains of the Austrian lake district, called the 'Salzkammergut', and even the mountains of the South Bavarian alps. From the balconies of the family houses you can also see the nearby Wallersee lake. The city of Salzburg can be reached by train in only half an hour.
SOS Children's Village consists of 13 family houses and a Community Centre. The children attend the SOS kindergarten and the nearby schools. They are also taking part in many village activities. The teenagers can live at the SOS Youth Facility in Salzburg.
